Fast forward several years and I have a beautiful daughter who I had dreams for of becoming a softball player just like her mom. Well shoot, that dream has never become reality, and never in a bazillion years (did I mentioned NEVER) would I have dreamed that at this point in my life I would be seeing RED? Not St. Louis Cardinal red (my fav baseball team), and nope not Az Cardinal red....but RED around the waist. Yes, around the waist, and not in the form of a tutu for a prima ballerina, or red for a runner in a race. Oh no, my daughter found her niche in a FOREIGN-to-me kind of sport. So perhaps, I should just spell it out, come to grips with it.
K is for Krunch (ok it starts with a C, but it will work!)
A is for Aggressive (all 86 lbs of her)
R is for Ready.
A is for Assertive (whip those boys into shape!)
T is for tough
E is for eager (to learn more and more)
So you probably guessed it, my daughter is a martial arts student training in Karate! What in the world do I know about Karate!? I am very proud of Amanda. She is working really hard and seems to really enjoy her sport. She does spar against the Sensei and even the other boys in class, and some are nervous to fight against her. But, she is one tough little cookie, ahem I mean Karate student! I had the pleasure of seeing her receive her RED belt, which makes her only 2 belts away from black! Wow! You amaze me my girl!
