...a culprit is lurking in our midst

JIMMY - a little boy, a son, a nephew, a grandson, a brother, and a ....what? a red-mustached little fella? Please do tell me how you ever happened to "grow" a red mustache? I mean, come on, you are only 6! Kids aren't maturing that quickly these days; quick, yes, but not that quick! Your grin in this picture makes me start to wonder if you are up to something. Are you trying to pull a fast one on your Aunt Anne? Tell, please do tell.....oh wait, what is that I see....ah, a culprit in our midst....the red mustache is compliments of this:

Kids Say the Darndest Things!

Yesterday while working, my phone rings, and it is my nephew, Jimmy calling. The conversation went something like this:

Jimmy: Aunt Anne, can we go to the movie today {Thursday}?

Aunt Anne: Well, Jimmy the movie does not show until Friday, so we will have to wait until tomorrow.

Jimmy: Oh. Well okay. But, Aunt Anne, can we please just go today because I really just cannot wait.

Aunt Anne: Sorry Jimmy, but we have to wait since the movie doesn't show until Friday. So, you are going to have to be patient.

Jimmy: Ok. Aunt Anne? what movie are we going to see?

......my nephew Jimmy LOVES movies. We bought tickets to the Harkins Summer Movie Fun for Kids, and the first movie starts today. We will get to go to 10 movies for $7 a person! His phone call cracked me up because "just can't wait", yet he had to ask me what movie are we going to see.

I sure do love you, Jimmy!

Old MacDonald Had a Farm

What better way to spend an hour in the morning than watching your nephew singing his little heart out in his Kindergarten program! Not only was the performance absolutely adorable, it was educational (has to be right?) as we learned about cows, pigs, etc. Thankfully, the "farm" we visited didn't provide the all too familiar farm smells. :)

Jimmy is my nephew, who is 6 years old. Full of energy, full of life, and overflowing with love for other people. He has as servant's heart, even going as far as calling me up asking me, "Aunt Anne, when can I come dig your weeds, again?" Jimmy, your smile can light up the room, your hugs are SO inviting. Thank you, thank you for inviting me to come see you in your performance. But tell me, how can you really be heading into FIRST GRADE already? I love you.

Jimmy during his program - he had a speaking part! YAY!
