Naps are so overrated, right? Kids sure seem to think so. There is no bargaining with a child, and no convincing them that a nap is "good for them". It is an endless battle you will fight - a battle between who is right and who is wrong. Well, my nieces and nephews, and Amanda, seem to find great pleasure in telling me, "I don't need a nap", "I'm not tired", "I am a big boy {girl}, and don't take naps anymore", and "I don't need a rest time." Funny, they plead their case with all the crying, whining, and irritability a child can have, and what do you know, come to find out, perhaps adults do know what they are talking about. I happened upon this scene if you may:
Jimmy, asleep on the loveseat.
And, to think, he told me he did NOT
need a nap.....
Jimmy - bedtime (you're not sleepy?)
Jeffrey - half on/half off my bed.
I think exhaustion won this fight
for no nap.
Jeffrey - bedtime - a hand over

Jeffrey - bedtime - a hand over
one eye just might do the trick
to put one to sleep
Joey - sound asleep in the landing
Joey - sound asleep in the landingof my upstairs!
Joey - bedtime - nighty nightsweet boy!

Amanda and Albert (this picture was not really at naptime). She does make Albert sleep at the head of the bed with her. They seriously sleep on the pillows together, and under the covers. What that dog wouldn't do for his "sister".
